Biological safety cabinet is a box-type air purification negative pressure safety device that can prevent the aerosol dissipation of certain dangerous or unknown biological particles during the experimental operation process. It is widely used in scientific research, teaching, clinical inspection and production in microbiology, biomedicine, genetic engineering, biological products and other fields. It is the most basic safety protection equipment in the first-level protective barrier in laboratory biosafety.
Fume hoods are ventilated enclosures that remove hazardous chemical fumes and volatile vapors from a laboratory, providing only personnel protection. Biosafety cabinets utilize HEPA filters to provide environmental, personnel and/or product protection.
Depending on your application, they can recirculate or exhaust filtered air and are suitable for dealing with harmful particles such as bacteria and viruses.
